Technical Data - Magnification range 50x and 80x This unit corresponds to EU Regulation No. 2075/2005 of the EU Commission from 05 December 2005. This unit is certified with the CE sign. Description The image scale 50:1 for routine checks and 80:1 for tests in cases of doubt are suitable for examination of wandering trichinas which can otherwise only be observed with difficulty due to their small size and stretched shape. Contrary to other products the image on the projection area is not limited to a circle but well lit all the way into the corners. The whole width of the field of the compressor or larva counting basin, approx. 1 cm2, can be viewed. By its closed construction the projector with table guidance contains lighting and image optics which are protected from dust and mechanical damages. The table, which has a lock against return movement, is suitable for one-handed operation and can easily be moved by ball bearings. Focusing the image and changing the scale while observing the controls are fast and comfortable thanks to ergonomically advantageous controls. The light-intensive halogen lamp rated at 100 W guarantees constant brightness and even illumination of the entire projection area. By optimizing the electrical performance data the service life of the lamp is increased thus decreasing operation costs. An adjustable lamp socket enables levels of tolerance according to the manufacturers and the exact adjustment of the coil for the lighting. Changing the bulb and positioning are easy and fast. A mirror - which can be ordered as an accessory (please order separately) - helps to adjust the bulb and shows when the coil is in a perfect position. Adequate ventilation prevents heat build-up in the immediate vicinity
of the device even when used continuously. History After the trichina (trichinella spiralis) was discovered as the cause of serious human diseases in the middle of the last century, serious endeavours were undertaken to counteract this danger. The start of development of the trichina was thoroughly researched. Since the complete extermination of the parasites is next to impossible due to spreading in live animals, preventive measures have to be taken. Optical examination of slides from certain areas of muscle tissue according to the crushing and digestion method offers good detection. Examination of slaughter animals for trichina under the terms of individual countries - especially in large slaughterhouses - demands a lot of capacity and efficiency by the machines used. The Trichinoscopes FF III, FF IV and FF V were produced by "Rathenower Optischen Werken (ROW)" until 1989. From 1990 until 1994 company "Askania Werke Rathenow" were producing the Trichinoscope FF VI. This company has taken over production in 1995 and since then is producing the Trichinoscope FF VII (FF7) as a table device. In addition, the components like compressor and Trichinenzählkammer (trichina counting basin) are also being manufactured for the device. |
